Committe Chair Positions

Program

  • Identify speakers and plan 4 meetings a year (Holiday Party and Installation of Offiicers planned by other committees
  • Obtain bio from speaker and provide program topic, date, and speaker info to Publicity Chair
  • Liaison with speaker regarding date, location, equipment needs, handouts

Publicity

  • Maintain email addresses for members, and prospect
  • Prepare press release for each meeting forward to Treasure, and Newletter Chair and Website Chair
  • Send Publicity and reminders
  • Send e-newsletter to members

Corporate Sponsors

  • Coordinate with those interested in advertising to members through the website or e-newsletter
  • Seek corporate sponsors to fund chapter and Scholarship Fund events and costs
  • Withthe approval of the Board, set advertising rates

Scholarship Fundraisng

  • Coordinate scholarship fundraising as chapter liaison with the Margaret Keldie Scholarship Fund Trustees
  • Coordinate fundraising in connection with the annual holiday party
  • Promote the scholarship fund and suggestion contributions at the holidays and membes birthday
  • At the request of the Board help plan other fundraising activities
  • Keep the chapter informed (through the e-Newsletter) of the amount raised for scholarships during the year

Holiday Party

  • Plan the holiday part as a fundraiser for the scholarship fund, with the approval of the board

Membership

  • Bring membeship applications and brochures to meetings and provide to every guest
  • Follow up with guest after meetings
  • Look for ways to attract new members
  • Receive applictions and work with national for processing
  • Welcome new members and provide them with Board approved information
  • Provide contact information for new members to Newletter, Roster, and Publicity Chairs

Member Relations

  • Remind current members to renew their dues
  • At the request of the Board, plan a new member social event for networking

Student Activities

  • Visit schools and colleges to promote accounting as a career
  • Liaison between the chapter and the schools and accounting clubs
  • Promote student membership for the chapter
  • Promote student membership to scholarship applications
  • Seek member involvement in student activities

Job Bank

  • Liaison between members seeking jobs and employees/recruiters with openings
  • Ensure that job openings get in the e-Newsletter and or Publicized at meetings
  • Coordinate with website chair to post current job openings

Affiliations

  • Liaison between the chapter and other professional association to promote the accounting profession, including the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS), Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Midwest Society of Professional Consultants (MSPC)
  • Work with the Program Chair to plan a joint meeting with an affiliated organization

Bylaws

  • Review chapter bylaws for compliance with National bylaws
  • Recommended bylaws changes to Board for approval before publicizing to the membership for approval
  • Provide updated bylaws to National

Roster

  • Maintain official contact information for members
  • Publish a roster annually
  • Provide mailing labels for members mailings, as requested

Newsletter

  • Obtain member news, meeting notices, calendar of events and other articles of intrest to members
  • Publish e-Newsletter 6 times a year
  • Forward to Publicity Chair for e-mailing and to Newletter Mailing Chair for mailing to those without e-mail

Newsletter Mailing

  • Using labels obtained from the Roster Chair, send newsletter and other meeting notices to those without email

Website

  • Liaison with webmaster
  • Update the website as needed
